The Handoff Record builder
Sit down with the person who sold the deal and answer five questions, in the customer's words, before anyone books a kickoff. Then save it as a one-page PDF for the team.
The deal
- Question 1 of 5The promise
Not the product summary. The sentence they said on a call about what needs to change in the next six months. Quote it if you can.
- Question 2 of 5Why now
A renewal deadline, a new leader, a failed project, a compliance date. Urgency explains behaviour later.
- Question 3 of 5The people
Aim for at least three people who know what you do. One contact is a churn signal waiting to happen.
- Question 4 of 5Outside the contract
Every side agreement, timeline and “we can probably do that” said in a room. This prevents the worst conversations.
- Question 5 of 5The first sign of progress
Something the customer would notice, not a task on your plan. Agree it with the owner before the kickoff.
- Optional
The known risk, said plainly. It is easier to hear now than at renewal.
